Because everyone deserves a bedroom where they feel happy, safe and secure.

While most of us take the sanctuary of our bedroom for granted, there are people living in our communities who aren't so lucky. The 100,000+ homeless Australians who don't have a bedroom at all. Those who are fleeing an abusive home life, desperately looking for a safe space to sleep. People struggling with mental illness, for who the bedroom can be a dark place.

The Bedroom Project helps and supports the following;

Homeless support and crisis accommodation

Domestic abuse survivor support

Mental health advocacy and support

Families facing health or financial hardship

How The Bedroom Project is helping

Understanding how Australians use their bedrooms is at the core of everything we do at Bedshed. But in doing so, we must acknowledge both the good and the bad.

That's what led us to The Bedroom Project, a group initiative from Bedshed franchisees and staff that partners with not-for-profit organisations to help make a positive social impact in the community.

We have partnered with charity organisations working in the community, using our resources to support their activity.

The Bedroom Project has played an integral role in the ongoing success of the Worthy Australia Safe Haven program. Our Safe Haven program creates beautiful, functional, and fully furnished homes for women and children who are experiencing homelessness due to domestic violence. We rely solely on donations, business, and community support to keep this life changing project running.

One of our greatest challenges is sourcing clean, good quality mattresses for our clients so when we were approached by Bedshed who told us about The Bedroom Project, we jumped on board without hesitation. Thus far, we have completed 34 Safe Havens, which have required 108 beds, and The Bedroom Project has provided a significant number of those mattresses. It has made such a significant impact on the costs of each Safe Haven and as such, contributes to the sustainability of the program.

Thank you to Bedshed for this incredible initiative.

Jennifer McGivern, CEO Worthy Australia

Helping break the cycle of domestic violence related homelessness in Australia is just one of many worthy projects Bedshed has been involved with.

To date, we've helped a number of different organisations across Australia through The Bedroom Project, providing practical support to the aged, the frail, people with disability and those suffering financial or social hardship.

If you work with or know of a not-for-profit organisation that we could partner with to help make a difference to people's lives, get in touch at [email protected].

Bedshed has supported a range of community and non-profit organisations over the years.

Under the umbrella of The Bedroom Project, we can further strengthen our support and continue to make a positive social impact.
